RABOBANK STADIUM CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Stadium has been hub for youth sporting events and more over past 12 months

Salinas, CA-August 25, 2014- Rabobank Stadium at the Salinas Sports Complex has been open for business for almost a full year, serving as a hub for youth sports and activities in Salinas. The state of the art stadium that features a bowl design, an artificial turf field and 5,000 seats has been the home football field for North Salinas and Palma High Schools as well as the Toro Bulls, Steinbeck Tigers, the Salinas Pop Warner Cardinals, Hartnell Junior College, the Salinas Spartans-a semi-pro football team and Salinas City Flag Football. Salinas Adult Soccer League, Monterey County Soccer League, Notre Dame Field Hockey & Soccer, Palma Soccer and LaCrosse as well as CIF CCS Soccer and CIF CCS Football games have been played at the stadium. Recently, the field housed a Pro Soccer Consulting Soccer Academy and has featured other soccer events throughout the year. The Boys & Girls Club, located next door to the stadium, often uses the site for outdoor play.

Rabobank Stadium’s official one year anniversary is Sunday September 7th. Youth football is scheduled that day and the facility will remain busy throughout the football season. The Salinas High v. Palma varsity football game will take place on Friday October 24, 2014. Rabobank staff will be on site with their cash cow, giveaways and more. Attend the game and learn ways to win an education fund from Rabobank.

Throughout the season, Public Recreation Unlimited will be working to collect final donations for the completion of the stadium. Look for more announcements to come regarding the 1 year anniversary and fundraising efforts. This project that has been funded entirely by private donations. Public Recreation Unlimited is a 501C3 charitable non-profit organization that was formed in 1970 to raise funds from the public in order to place needed improvements on property devoted to recreational purposes. Since its inception, this group has raised millions of dollars for projects in Sherwood Park such as the renovation and reconstruction of the Rodeo Grounds into today’s multi-use Salinas Sports Complex that includes not only the arena, but softball fields, an indoor soccer facility and more.
